How do I buy tickets to a show?
All upcoming shows can be found on our show calendar OR you can purchase tickets from our Etix Kiosk located in Bar Bar. The Etix kiosk sell tickets, subject to availability, to Mississippi Studios, Polaris Hall, Revolution Hall, Show Bar, and Aladdin Theater.

What items do you not allow into the venue?
Firearms, large knives, fireworks or explosives, drugs, outside alcohol, large bags, musical instruments or noise makers, large signs, spray paint, replica weapons, costume masks, any items determined by our security staff that could be used as a weapon, used to threaten other guests, used to disrupt events. This list is subject to change without notice. Only on-duty law enforcement is allowed to carry firearms on our property.
What is your bag policy?
We allow small bags smaller than 10”x10”x 6”. All small bags that are allowed into the building will be thoroughly searched. It is our security staff’s discretion to allow or not allow any bags even if they are of correct size. No backpacks, no suitcases permitted.
I think I left an item at the venue?
We hold all lost items for 15 days. If you have an item you are missing within the last 15 days please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, please provide a description of the item including make, color, shape, etc. We typically have a large number of items so being as descriptive as possible is very helpful for us to try and find it for you.
I think I left my credit card/ID at one of the bars?
If you are sure you left it here, just come by during operating hours and check-in with the staff. If you are unsure send us an email at email@example.com and we can take a look for you. We shred any unclaimed cards after 30 days.
I need accessible seating or other accommodations, how do I arrange those?
We want everyone to have the best possible experience when coming to our events. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and provide us with details like what event you have purchased tickets for and how we can best accommodate your needs. We do our best to find the best location for you and your guests but have limited space and have to ensure that everyone is safe and as comfortable as possible.
Are there any exceptions for minors to attend shows that are listed as 21+?
No. Our OLCC liquor license does not allow for us to have minors mixed with over 21 year olds when our events are listed as 21+.
What is a valid ID to gain entry to the bars and/or 21+ events?
We accept all IDs listed on the OLCC list of acceptable IDs; Valid State Issued Drivers Licenses or ID cards, Valid Passports, Canadian ID, and Valid Military IDs. Valid means not expired and unaltered. The OLCC defines ‘State’ as a United State or protectorate. If you are a guest traveling from out of country (except Canada), you must present a valid Passport. Photo copies of any ID are NOT accepted.
Do I need my ID to get in?
If a show is listed as 21 and over or you wish to drink an adult beverage and appear under the age 30 we will ask for your ID. State law requires us to verify the age of anyone who appears under the age 26 by using one of their approved forms of ID. Photo copies of any ID are NOT accepted.
What Does General Admission mean?
When an event is listed as general admission it means all seating and standing locations are first come first serve. Some of our events are fully seated and general admission which just means first come first serve seating. Make sure to not leave open seats between you and your neighbor so all groups can find seating.
What does Seated mean?
When an event is listed as fully seated it means we have seating throughout the venue all the way up to the front of the stage and do not have any areas for standing or dancing. All seating at Mississippi Studios and Polaris Hall is first-come, first-serve.
Do you allow food and beverage into the venue?
Yes! Food and beverage from Bar Bar is allowed in the venue for most shows. Just no glass cups please!
My band wants to play at Mississippi Studios, who do I contact?
You can email email@example.com. Please understand that we have little to no control over opening spots for national touring acts and our calendar fills up pretty quickly. All submissions are considered but not all are responded to.
I want to share my extra ticket with a friend, how do I change the name on the ticket?
Technically, you can share a screenshot of your ticket(s), AT YOUR OWN RISK. Please note, once you share your ticket, it can only be used once. All transfers are at the buyer's own risk.
The show is sold out, will there be tickets at the door?
Typically not, but sometimes. Best way to find out about additional tickets is to sign up for our mailing list. We do not offer a waiting list for available tickets.
I bought a ticket from Craigslist, StubHub, or another 3rd party ticketing system that is not Eventbrite, can you help with my order?
*BUYER BEWARE OF 3rd PARTY TICKET PLATFORMS* Unfortunately we cannot assist with orders placed on 3rd party ticketing platforms as we have no access or control over them. We do also have to caution purchasing tickets from strangers or on Craigslist, we see plenty of people get ripped off and it breaks our heart when we cannot help.
I cannot attend the show like I thought, can I get a refund?
All ticket sales are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable.
How do you communicate changes or other information about specific shows?
We will email ticket purchasers directly and post updated information on our website and social media channels.
Do you have parking available?
Mississippi Avenue has street parking only. We encourage all guests to take taxis or ride shares if you and your group plan on imbibing. There is also limited parking in the area and out of respect for our neighbors who live in the area, we encourage getting here via taxi, TriMet (Bus or MAX), rideshare, or biking.
Is your venue easily accessible from mass transit?
Yes! Via TriMet, you can plan your trip here using TriMet’s ride planner.
Is there any lodging nearby?
Hotel Eastlund, The White Eagle and the Courtyard by Marriott are all close traveling distance from our venue. There are also plenty of AirBnB listings around Mississippi Avenue.
Are there any good restaurants we should try before our show?
Absolutely, we’re big fans of our Bar Bar burger and we’re not ashamed of it, but if you're looking to explore what the neighborhood has to offer we suggest checking out any of the other 20+ restaurants on the avenue. We are huge fans of Broder Nord - next block (for breakfast and brunch).
What is your photo policy?
It depends on the event, but generally it is no professional photography, flash is discouraged, and please don’t be a distraction to your fellow show goers.
What time does the band go on that I want to see?
We often don’t know the official schedule until the day of the show and even then it is subject to change. Most events have a door time and start time listed and we do our best to start every event as close to ontime as possible. Typically opening acts play for 30-45 minutes.

ONLINE SALES: Service and /or delivery fees apply to ALL advanced tickets purchased online (fee subject to ticket price). Our venue WILL CALL / BOX (located at the entrance to the venue) (two ATMs located on premise), opens approximately one hour before showtime, and sells night-of-show tickets (subject to availability). Print At Home and Mobile ticket purchases can have their tickets scanned on a smart phone or iPhone. Please have the file up when you arrive at the venue to speed up admission lines.

Reservations & private events
Our beloved, distinct properties can be rented for small gatherings, daytime retreats, or large, multi-faceted events ranging in size from 20 – 700 guests. Submit your inquiry on contact page – click here. Note: the music venue side is typically booked 5-8 months in advance. If you are inquiring about a weekend evening rental, we recommend contacting us well in advance (a year+) when planning date and times. If you are an agent, approved external promoter, or an artist, contact our booking team.
Host Your Party in the Secret Garden + Back Patio:
Great for casual parties, we accept secret garden and back patio reservations for groups of 20-100. You’ll need to reserve both spaces if your party is greater than 40 people. Note: The Secret Garden is not covered. The back patio area is covered with a retractable awning + heaters. We humbly offer Portland weather and the space/spaces as-is.

audio & video recording services:
Mississippi Studios is an acoustically designed room with non-parallel walls and excellent, professional recording rig permanently installed. Live performances at Mississippi Studios can be captured by our expert audio engineers & videographers using our in-house recording gear. ALL recording requests must be coordinated during show advance, no exceptions.
we do not allow board feeds or tapers.
Here’s why: 1. Board feeds are terrible by nature; the loudest instruments in the room are often not being amplified by the PA system (drums, loud amps), thus the stereo feed is all whacked out with vocals, effects, and acoustic instruments. 2. For multitrackers, we don’t want outside gear introducing buzzes or electronic noise into our system or unnecessary wear and tear on the direct out circuits/jacks (or our engineers). 3. Takes space in front of the board & looks/feels unprofessional. 4. We have figured out the most quality, reliable way to capture and multitrack shows for next-to-nothing, and we want to pass it on to artists.
We do NOT allow ad-hoc videotaping of events for these reasons: video cameras take away from the ambience of the room and intimacy/now-ness of the performance and take up space. The Fire Marshall forbids tripods. We will occasionally allow use of handhelds/shoulder mounts but ONLY if a production plan is presented at least 7 days in advance that includes: (a) plans for the audio capture, (b) post-production plans and (c) WRITTEN permission of the artists (we provide form). Sustainability is a core value of our company and we’re proud to be industry leaders in reducing the ecological footprint of live music. We use reusable metal pint glasses in all of our venues. We don’t buy bottled water and instead provide filtered water stations and reusable containers for our artists. We offer a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options at our eateries.
